Peace of mind

Is TessDrive safe for my Tesla?

Yes. TessDrive only uses your Tesla's built-in web browser — it never connects to, modifies, or communicates with any vehicle system. There's no wiring, no jailbreak, no root, and nothing to void, because to your Tesla it's simply loading a web page.

It never touches the car

TessDrive doesn't talk to your FSD or Autopilot, your car's firmware, the diagnostic port, or your Tesla account. It's a separate device, and the Tesla's browser just displays a page from it over WiFi. Nothing about your car is changed. FSD is tied to your car and account at purchase; viewing a web page cannot add or remove it.

Nothing to void

Because there's no disassembly, no modification, and nothing wired in, there's nothing for a warranty to object to. The only cable is a simple USB cable for power. See exactly how it connects →

Your browsing stays yours

To your Tesla, it's just the browser loading a website — exactly what it's built to do. Tesla doesn't receive what you watch or browse through TessDrive.

Our honest disclosures

We'd rather be straight with you than oversell. TessDrive is presently an uncertified Android device with respect to Google Play Protect, which a small number of apps may treat differently. And it's an entertainment device — not a secure device for banking or sensitive accounts; keep those on your phone, and factory-reset TessDrive before selling or transferring it. Which Teslas?

Any Tesla with a modern browser (MCU2 or newer): all Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck, and Model S / Model X from roughly mid-2018 onward, or an older S/X upgraded to MCU2.
