What if something stops working after an update?
TessDrive's update system is built to be robust — files are copied, verified with a hash check, installed, and confirmed correct. If an update fails midstream or the device loses power, the system detects it and self-heals automatically. That said, if you ever want a complete refresh, you can always switch to Beta updates, then immediately roll back to Stable for a fresh install of the current release.
I don't see TessDrive's WiFi network in the list.
Make sure TessDrive has power and has had a minute to fully boot. Check that you're looking for the correct network (TessDrive). If it's still not showing up, try rebooting TessDrive from a power cycle.
I lost my Quickstart guide. What is the default password?
$treamer. It's highly advised to change this soon after installation — you can update it anytime from Settings → AP Password.
My Tesla is connected to TessDrive's WiFi, but the browser won't load the page.
Double-check you're browsing to the correct address — just tessdrive, which redirects automatically. If that doesn't resolve, use the full address tessdrive.local:8888. Try closing and reopening the browser tab, or reloading the page. If it still won't load, confirm TessDrive is fully booted (allow a minute or two after power-on).
Do I have to type the address in every time?
No — once the TessDrive home page loads, we recommend bookmarking it in your browser's favorites. After that it's one tap to get back in, with no typing.
An app isn't showing up, or won't launch.
Not every app is guaranteed to run — check our App Compatibility page for known issues. If an app you expect to work isn't behaving correctly, reach out to support and we'll look into it.
Video is choppy or lower quality than expected.
This is usually one of two things: (1) the app itself limiting quality based on its own requirements, or (2) your internet connection's actual speed, since TessDrive streams through whatever uplink you've connected it to. Check your uplink connection first.
TessDrive lost its WiFi / internet connection.
TessDrive gets its internet through whatever hotspot or WiFi network you've connected it to — if that connection drops, TessDrive will too. Check Settings → Manage WiFi / Uplink to confirm it's still connected, and reconnect if needed.
How do I reset TessDrive's WiFi password?
Go to Settings on the TessDrive home screen and update your AP Password — no need to physically reset anything.
I still need help.
Reach out anytime through our contact form — we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.
