How to watch Apple TV in a Tesla

Apple TV isn't part of Tesla's built-in Theater, so there's no native way to watch it — but TessDrive adds it. The real Apple TV Android app runs on the TessDrive device and plays on your Tesla's screen over its own private WiFi, controlled by touch on the Tesla display, and for passengers even while the car is moving.

Why Apple TV isn't on Tesla

Tesla's Theater includes a curated handful of apps — and Apple TV isn't one of them. Short of a workaround, there's no built-in way to get it on the screen.

How TessDrive runs it

TessDrive is genuine Android, so you install the Apple TV app the same way you would on any Android device — through the built-in App Installer — then sign in with your Apple account. It appears on your Tesla's screen and you control it by touch. How TessDrive works →

The picture actually plays

Because TessDrive isn't screen-mirroring — the app runs on the device, not your phone — protected content plays with picture and sound, within the quality tier the app permits on this hardware. No black screen. TessDrive does not circumvent DRM.

And everything else Tesla doesn't have

Apple TV is just one example. TessDrive also adds Prime Video, Paramount+, Max, Peacock, ESPN, Hulu and effectively any other Android app, alongside Netflix, YouTube and Disney+. See the full Tesla Theater alternative →

Which Teslas?

Any Tesla with a modern browser (MCU2 or newer): all Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck, and Model S / Model X from roughly mid-2018 onward, or an older S/X upgraded to MCU2.
